This was really helpful for me because I’m 25 and my whole identity is tied to being a good student. I was a good student in school, graduated college at the top of my class and had a perfect GPA in grad school. But now I’m facing graduating grad school and my whole identity is gone. I don’t know who I am beyond being a good student. All of those metrics that I tied to my self worth mean nothing anymore.
Your story is exactly like the story of the person whi is top of our class. He said he is actually sad and frustrated he didn’t experience his student life besides the academic part. He was to one party in 4 years, he was never in the seaside destination every single one of us goes every summer (it’s a youth destination), he was sad other people didn’t call him to go out whenever they were attending social events etc. And that was not because they had something against it, that was because nobody actually believed ge would be interested in doing something else besides studying all day long. He even recognized he knows he is believed to be very formal and serios from the outside when in fact it’s really not the case. So yes, he said he is regardedas just being agood student and nothing more unfortunatly.

Wow, I can relate because I come from a similar family background. I was my Momma’s first child to go to college. I’ve felt broken before as I was unsure if I had the emotional coping tools 🔧 to GROW through times of adversity and listening to a piece of Inky Johnson’s life story blessed me 🙏🏽!
